In the old days, spellings of persons' names were not as consistent as we are now used to. There are different spellings of children's surnames with respect to the spellings of their father's surname, as well as between spellings of the same person's name at different occasions (birth, marriage, parentship, death). In addition, there might have been mistakes and errors in the writing and/or reading of the documents.

In order to correctly know who is who in the diagrams, I have identified the following differences between the documented family trees of my father, Engelbert Fuhlrott, and of Prof. Johann Carl Fuhlrott.
